The recent episode of Saturday Night Live saw Tina Fey portraying US vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin as usual. What makes this episode different is the surprise appearance of Palin in an obvious, desperate attempt to win over voters. In the recent past, US presidential candidate John McCain guested on The Late Show with David Letterman to do the same thing.
I sincerely doubt if her guesting has significant impact on the undecided voters in the US. But the sketch is so well-written that it deserves to be watched and analyzed especially by television networks in the Philippines. As I wrote in the past, there is room for intelligent entertainment on television in the form of political satire.
Given the plethora of problems plaguing the Philippines, writers will definitely never run out of material, and the only problem they will face is what issues to include in a particular episode.
In any case, enjoy these two videos from NBC. Thank you for your attention.

I dont think she was particularly good. Either the McCain or SNL crew did not have any faith in her not to make a bigger fool of herself. Oh well.
