Consider this a shameless promotion, not for me but for my Journalism 117 (Online Journalism) students at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman.
I just submitted their final grades today (October 20) and I cannot formally end the semester without promoting the blogs they created, developed and maintained for my class.
The online articles they were required to write and have published in reputable online publications are cross-posted in their blogs. Special mention goes to Ms. Allyn Baldemor whose article was published by the international wire agency United Press International (UPI).
My contact at the UPI University wrote in a recent email message that “(s)ome of (my) students are writing some great stuff.” Yes, my J 117 students have every reason to be proud.

Took the time to visit all 14. Good job, everyone! I’m sure everyone who read and will read your blogs will find something that interests them. I know I did.
And my congratulations, too, to the teacher. :)
Now the other part. Always, always be careful with the language. I mean, mistakes in grammar or wrong usage of a term becomes a bump in what would otherwise be smooth reading. Myself, I would be following the train of thought of the blogger, tapos nadidiskaril dahil may maling nadadaanan ang mata ko. If you are continuing with the blog (I REALLY would be interested to read future blog entries), be kind enough to make it a smooth read.
Respect your reader.
Reply: Thank you very much, Monette, for taking the time to visit the blogs. I’m sure the concerned students (and our other readers) will keep in mind your reminder about language. I fully agree that writers (including bloggers) need to be sensitive to their audience.
