Three books of essays in Filipino will be launched on August 16 (Thursday), 2 p.m. at the auditorium of the College of Mass Communication (CMC), University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman, Quezon City.
Authored by Danilo Araña Arao, the books are titled “Kon(tra)teksto: Pag-uungkat, Pag-uulat at Pagmumulat” (DLSU Publishing House/Central Books), “Hay, Buhay! Reklamong Todo-todo Mula sa Nag-aalboroto” (UP Press) and “Saysay ng Pagkakaugnay-ugnay: Mga Sanaysay ng Pagninilay-nilay” (UST Publishing House).
Arao teaches journalism at UP CMC and writes a column for online publications Pinoy Weekly (pinoyweekly.org) and The Lobbyist (thelobbyist.biz).
The books contain Arao’s essays on various topics like journalism, media, communication, politics, economics, culture, technology, blogging and web authoring. While most of the essays are written in the Philippines, the books also include those written during the author’s stay in Indonesia and South Korea.
The three books compile most of the author’s essays from 2006 to 2009 published in his regular column titled “Konteksto” in Pinoy Weekly.
The Kon(tra)teksto and Hay Buhay! books were included in the mass launch of the DLSU Publishing House and UP Press last June 11 and August 3, respectively.
The launch of Arao’s three books is being organized in time for the Language Month (Buwan ng Wika).
Guro ng peryodismo, maglulunsad ng tatlong libro sa Agosto 16
May tatlong libro ng sanaysay na ilulunsad sa Agosto 16 (Huwebes), 2 p.m. sa auditorium ng Kolehiyo ng Komunikasyong Pangmadla (College of Mass Communication o CMC), Unibersidad ng Pilipinas (UP) Diliman, Lungsod Quezon.
Sinulat ni Danilo Araña Arao, ang mga libro ay may pamagat na “Kon(tra)teksto: Pag-uungkat, Pag-uulat at Pagmumulat” (DLSU Publishing House/Central Books), “Hay, Buhay! Reklamong Todo-todo Mula sa Nag-aalboroto” (UP Press) at “Saysay ng Pagkakaugnay-ugnay: Mga Sanaysay ng Pagninilay-nilay” (UST Publishing House).
Si Arao ay nagtuturo ng peryodismo sa UP CMC at nagsusulat ng kolum para sa mga online na publikasyong Pinoy Weekly (pinoyweekly.org) and The Lobbyist (thelobbyist.biz).
Nilalaman ng mga libro ang mga sanaysay ni Arao tungkol sa iba’t ibang paksa tulad ng peryodismo, midya, komunikasyon, politika, ekonomiya, kultura, teknolohiya, blogging at paggawa ng mga website. Bagama’t karamihan sa mga sanaysay ay sinulat niya sa Pilipinas, kasama rin sa mga libro ang mga sanaysay na sinulat habang ang awtor ay nasa Indonesia at Timog Korea.
Nasa tatlong libro ang karamihan sa mga sanaysay ng awtor na lumabas mula 2006 to 2009 sa regular niyang kolum na “Konteksto” sa Pinoy Weekly.
Ang mga librong Kon(tra)teksto at Hay Buhay! ay kasama sa mass launch na ginawa ng DLSU Publishing House at UP Press noong Hunyo 11 at Agosto 3.
Ang paglulunsad ng tatlong aklat ni Arao ay mangyayari sa okasyon ng Buwan ng Wika.
