N.B. – This is a media advisory from the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP) dated today (September 7) regarding a radio program I co-host.

This Monday, September 10, segment host Danilo Arao, a journalism professor of the University of the Philippines, member of the board of editors of Bulatlat, and columnist of Pinoy Weekly, will discuss the state of the campus press in the Philippines with guest Jose Cosido, president of the College Editors Guild of the Philippines.

The topics to be discussed are the upcoming journalism skills training by the Department of Education, Republic Act 7079 or the Campus Journalism Act of 1991, the harassment experienced by student journalists and the issue of campus journalists as legitimate members of the press.

“Usapang Media” is a regular segment in Ricky Lee’s daily program “Ano Ba’ng Atin Kabayan” which airs over dwAD 1098 khz from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. every Monday.
