I am happy to announce that Monitoring Media Coverage of Elections, a 60-page manual published by the Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility (CMFR), is already available.
Please find below excerpts from the introduction which explains the usefulness of this book to media practitioners and researchers:
This guidebook, the final component of CMFR’s media monitor of news media coverage of the 2007 elections…is meant to serve as a companion to the actual training of media coverage researchers by individuals and groups experienced in media monitoring in the Philippine setting.
This manual was prepared by CMFR Deputy Director Luis V. Teodoro, University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication Professor Danilo A. Arao, and PJR Reports Assistant Editor Hector Bryant L. Macale. (PJR Reports is a CMFR publication.)
As one of the co-authors, the CMFR was kind enough to give me some copies of the manual, two of which I already gave to the UP CMC library.
I will be giving away copies to interested bloggers through a contest. Please visit this blog in the next few days for the mechanics. Thank you for reading.
